Dr. Kamilia Helmy Toulon

Chair of the Family Committee at the International Union of Muslim Scholars and a member of its Board of Trustees, and a member of the High Advisory Board of the International Family Institute affiliated with the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (IDSB) in Turkey. She holds a PhD on "International Conventions and Their Impact on the Dismantling of the Family" from the University of Tripoli, Lebanon, where she also lectures on "The Family and International Conventions" within the Family Sciences diploma. From 2000 to 2018 she chaired the International Islamic Committee for Woman and Child, where she oversaw the drafting of the first global family charter derived from Islamic law and authenticated by Al-Azhar's Islamic Research Academy and other jurisprudential councils across the Muslim world. She contributed to drafting the International Family Charter issued by the International Union of Muslim Scholars, to critical Islamic reviews of several UN conventions on women and children and of draft family legislation in a number of Arab states, and has trained community leaders, university professors, preachers and educators across dozens of countries.
